Outpatient Dietitian

How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?

Clients have described my approach as laid-back, compassionate, and authentic. I believe in a collaborative approach with an emphasis on connection, which is essential to building trust and making positive change. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable space for self-exploration and growth to take place.

Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?

I enjoy working and growing alongside those struggling with their relationship with food and am currently pursuing my eating disorder certification (CEDRD). In the future, I plan to incorporate functional nutrition and intuitive eating modalities into my practice. Through my previous work experience I've become passionate about integrating sustainable agriculture into nutrition counseling; I feel that connecting to the source of our food can be very healing and transform our relationship with it.

If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?

I would most likely work on a produce farm because I love being outside and doing physical labor, especially when it involves food! It's important to me to be a part of a food system that increases access to local produce. I also thoroughly enjoy the sense of community that working on a farm provides.

Where can we find you when you're not in client sessions?

On the weekdays and evenings, I'm most likely watching Bob's Burgers on repeat, dancing/singing to bluegrass, or unnecessarily cleaning and reorganizing things around the house. On the weekends you can find me trail running with my dogs, camping with friends, hanging out by the river, or sitting around a fire in my backyard.
