Caroline Sharrits

Caroline Sharrits, MS, RD, LDN

Outpatient Dietitian

(She/Her/Hers)

How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?

My approach to nutrition counseling starts with recognizing that food, nutrition, and eating are complicated. Food is so wrapped up in social situations, finances, previous life experiences, medical conditions, our day-to-day lives, and more. I take a non-judgmental and individualized approach throughout the nutrition counseling process. We can work together on your personalized nutrition-related goals at a realistic pace for you.

Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?

I feel passionate about helping individuals find day-to-day ways to improve their quality of life through food and nutrition. I enjoy working with people through general nutrition, disordered eating patterns, body image, and medical conditions. My goal is to empower individuals and work toward using food as a tool to nourish your body, mind, and soul.

If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?

Nurse, artist, or aerialist! Before falling for the RD profession, I started my undergraduate education as a nursing major because of the patient centered care and hands-on way of helping people. I love to dabble in the arts through crafting, creative movement, and aerial silks and continue to prioritize these as hobbies.

Where can we find you when you're not in client sessions?

You can find me in nature; wandering, swimming, paddling, skiing, or exploring with my partner, Spencer, and large adorable dog, Loki. I also enjoy crafting, eating, gardening, practicing aerial silks, reading, and drinking coffee or hot tea.
