Katti Jackson, MS, RD, LDN

Outpatient Dietitian

(She/Her/Hers)

How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?

I offer an individualized and compassionate approach to nutrition counseling. I believe that we
are all unique individuals with unique needs and there is no one ideal way of eating. Using a non-diet approach, I assist clients with the "outer wisdom" of nutrition (science) while challenging them to explore and apply their own "inner wisdom" and mindfulness in order to regain a peace with eating. My desire is to see clients equipped to navigate food and movement with confidence, freedom, and enjoyment.

Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?

I am passionate about eating disorder prevention and recovery. I believe everyone deserves to live a life that is aligned with the things that they value, and if food happens to be getting in the way, I hope to help in that healing process. As a former collegiate athlete, I also enjoy working with young athletes and recreational athletes alike as they navigate nutrition for performance in a way that allows them joy, peace, and sustainability.

If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?

Either a nature/landscape photographer or potter. I love capturing the beauty of the great outdoors. I also took two ceramics classes in high school and enjoyed the process of creating something both beautiful and functional.

Where can we find you when you're not in client sessions?

Planning my next outdoor adventure or road race, playing with my toddler, gardening, running/hiking with my husband, or catching a sunrise/sunset. But, really, if it's a weekday, I'm probably: cooking, washing dishes, jamming out while I run the weed eater, doing laundry, or trying to scratch things off my "to-do" list.
