Katie Rhodes, RD, LDN, CEDS-C

Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor, Foundations Team Member

(She/Her/Hers)

How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?

My approach to nutrition counseling is a compassionate, non-judgmental, individualized, "call it as I see it" approach. I like to use humor when appropriate when having to have those hard conversations about how to navigate challenges that often arise in client recovery.  Once ready, I enjoy incorporating mindful and intuitive eating skills with clients to help them relearn to trust their bodies needs.

Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?

I'm very passionate about Womxn's Health, especially PCOS. Lately, I have really enjoyed learning more about the Embodied Recovery approach.  I also love providing clinical supervision to my peers and applying my CEDS-C credentials to support individuals with eating and body image concerns.

If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?

I have always been that friend who plans everything for a trip and I really enjoy doing it.  I love an itinerary!  What to see, where to eat, what to do, you name it!  So, I suppose a travel guide would fit that bill.  Or if I really brushed up my skills, I would be a tennis coach again.

Where can we find you when you're not in client sessions?

Mostly outside whether it is taking walks downtown, Carrier park or the River Arts District.  I enjoy hiking and kayaking in the warmer weather.  Also, if the timing is right, you can find me jetting off to my happy places which are the beach in Destin, FL or the Mountains in Bozeman, MT.
