Lindsey Casiano, MS, RD, LDN, CEDS

Clincial Supervisor, Media Coordinator, Foundations Team Member

(She/Her/Hers)

How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?

In a world that fervently and relentlessly encourages disconnection from body and self, I aim to support my clients in cultivating relationship between the two. You are the expert of your body and all your experiences, full stop. My work with clients is rooted in this truth, and I also incorporate somatic techniques, mindfulness, and distress tolerance skills when appropriate. Holding each individual’s agency in the highest regard, I value working with clients in pursuits of wellness that are meaningful for them.

Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?

I am enthusiastic about my work in the field of eating disorder recovery. I am also committed to expanding my knowledge and awareness around the intersection between eating disorders and social justice. Providing supervision for my peers is an element to my job that I greatly enjoy as well.

If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?

I’m split between two options – a therapist or a full-time artist. I began college as a studio art major and for me, there is nothing like the depth of feeling and expression that comes with creation.

Where can we find you when you're not in client sessions?

I’m probably in the woods (hiking, chasing waterfalls, looking at leaves and flowers and things extremely up close – does anyone else do that?). Of course, my sweet pup Zola is right by my side! You may also find me engaging in self-expression through various forms of creating such as dancing, writing, and drawing. When I’m at home, you’ll likely find me with a mug of hot tea, essential oils, and a heating pad.
